Now that Facebook Messenger has copied Snapchat’s story setting, it only figures that WhatsApp, a messaging app released in 2010 and owned by Facebook, would be next.
As expected, the story setting will allow users to post images and videos that remain visible for twenty-four hours, unless deleted beforehand by the poster.
The possibility of a story feature for WhatsApp came to light in November 2016, but nothing was certain until a tweet from WABetaInfo was posted in February 2017, confirming suspicions. According to the photo included in the tweet, users can access the feature through privacy settings.
This element of the next WhatsApp update has given priority to iOS devices. Sorry, Android users, you’ll have to wait a little longer. In the meantime, keep yourselves entertained with Snapchat.
